You are invited to experience riding on a selection of rail excursions and to observe ÖBB operations filmed in the period 1990 until the present day.

Steam, diesel and electric traction are featured on standard and narrow gauge lines in never-to-be-repeated footage from the early 1990s along with some more recent excursions filmed on a digital camcorder

To the Salzkammergut Lakes with Stern & Hafferl

Visit the Salzkammergut Lakes using the railways of Stern & Hafferl in 2008.

>Enjoy a round trip via the Vorchdorferbahn from Lambach to Vorchdorf, then to Gmunden Seebahnhof on the Traunseebahn, ending in the ascent of the Gmunden Tramway from the lake to the main line station. This includes some views of the historic trams at Gmunden. After the return journey, we move to St Georgen in Attergau for a ride on the Attergaubahn to Vöcklamarkt and to visit Attersee to watch the vintage ‘Bummelzug’

Jenbach & the Zillertalbahn

Visit the narrow gauge line from Jenbach to Mayrhofen under steam operation in 2007.

Watch the diesels at work around the Zillertalbahn station at Jenbach and have a bonus view of the Achenseebahn trains. Board the Zillertalbahn steam special behind 'No 5 Gerlos' and enjoy the whole line during a return trip to Mayrhofen.

All DVDs in this series have been filmed by an enthusiast of Austrian Railways, who's visited them for over 30 years.

Norman's wealth of experience includes four years as editor of the Austrian Railway Group's journal. He was also author of their Salzburg booklet and edited their Innsbruck booklet and the recently published revision of the Erzbergbahn booklet. He has also been their Librarian and Egroup Moderator and is currently their Exhibitions Co-ordinator.
